Iran launched strikes against Israel, reportedly the Islamic Republic’s first attacks against the county since the start of the ceasefire in early April.

On Sunday, Iran launched missiles toward Israel, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced.

“The IDF identified missiles launched from Iran toward Israel. Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat,” the IDF stated, adding that sirens had sounded in several areas across the country.

Earlier in the day, the IDF announced that Israel had struck a Hezbollah command center in Lebanon.

“The targeted command center was used by Hezbollah terrorists to advance terror attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers operating in southern Lebanon,” the Israeli military said.

While speaking with Fox News Chief Foreign Correspondent Trey Yingst, President Donald Trump said the attack would not help with negotiations.

“You’ve shot your missiles, that’s enough. Get back to the table and make a deal,” Trump reportedly said about the Islamic Republic.

The outlet also reported that the IDF stated the immediate threat had passed and that people were then able to leave protected spaces.

Trump told Axios that he was going to call Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and urge him not to retaliate for the attacks.

“I am going call Bibi right now and tell him not to retaliate. Each of them had their fun. Israel had its strikes, and Iran had its strikes. We don’t need another one,” Trump told the outlet, which reported that Israel claimed it had intercepted the missiles.

This is a breaking story. Check back for updates.
