And just like that, the Knicks have stolen home-court advantage and then some.
New York came into San Antonio for Game 1 of the NBA Finals on an 11-game win streak, and it took that streak to 12 with a 105-95 victory.
Then, in Game 2, the Knicks kept on streaking.
New York won its 13th playoff game in a row on Friday, edging the Spurs by one in dramatic fashion. After Jalen Brunson made one of two free throws to put the Knicks up a single point with fewer than 10 seconds to go, San Antonio superstar Victor Wembanyama missed a midrange jump shot that would have presumably given the Spurs the win as time expired.
For the third time in NBA history, the road team has won both of the first two games in the series on the road.
Now, the Knicks go home with a chance to close this series out on their home floor, as they aim for 14th and 15th consecutive wins. So far this postseason, New York is 6-1 at home. It lost to Atlanta by one in Game 2 of the first round.
