Chasing the target, India endured a disappointing batting collapse. Although Abhishek Sharma provided a promising start, the rest of the batting lineup failed to maintain the momentum. T20 specialists Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan were dismissed cheaply, putting India under early pressure.
The wickets continued to tumble as captain Shreyas Iyer fell for just 3 runs off 7 balls, dismissed by Matt Hollard. With India struggling, Shivam Dube briefly offered hope with an explosive cameo of 25 runs from just 14 deliveries at a strike rate of 178. However, his efforts were short-lived, and the all-rounder could not single-handedly rescue the innings.
India will now look to regroup quickly and level the two-match series as they take on Ireland once again.
